Neil Etheridge kept a clean sheet on Wednesday as the Philippine Azkals beat the Blue Wolves of Mongolia 2-0 at The Panaad Stadium in Bacolod in a crucial AFC Challenge Cup Qualifier (1st leg).
The Philippines first goal came right before half-time from Chieffy Caligdong before Phil Younghusband secured the win in stoppage time.
The second leg will be played on the 16th February with the winner reaching the 16-team group phase of the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup.
Should Etheridge and company seal their victory over Mongolia in the second leg the Philippines will compete against Myanmar, Palestine and Bangladesh in the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup between the 20th and 31st Match 2011.
